What Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse is about

What makes it different

On October 15, Amazon's Bee team launched two new personal AI devices: Bee Frontier and Bee Eclipse. Frontier is the next generation of Bee's AI wearable, worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing, with an ultra-soft silicone band, dual noise-filtering microphones, IP67 water resistance, up to seven days of battery life and USB-C charging. Eclipse is an all-new form factor: a slim, lightweight device about the size of a credit card that attaches magnetically to the back of a phone, with more than 21 days of battery on a single charge. Both work the same way β€” press the button and Bee captures the conversation, then turns it into summaries, insights, reminders and to-dos, without retaining any audio. Frontier is available now for $74.99 in Onyx, Lavender and Sage at Amazon.com; Eclipse is coming soon, starting at $99.99 in Silver, Midnight, Honey and Blush.

Everything Bee captures lands in the Bee mobile app and a new desktop app, with templates tailored to specific settings β€” lectures, care plans, brainstorms β€” plus daily memories and a personal chat assistant. Connect Bee to Alexa+ to ask for hands-free summaries and to-dos using voice ID, or to Amazon.com for personalized shopping recommendations drawn from what you said. The free tier includes conversation summaries, recaps and 14-day memory; Bee Pro at $11.99 a month (with 30 days free for new customers) adds unlimited summaries, the desktop app, integrations with third-party apps, suggested to-dos and conversation templates. Privacy is the core pitch: a single button turns recording on and off, a visible LED shows when the mic is live, transcripts are encrypted with device-created keys, you are prompted to get permission from call participants, and you can delete your transcripts and summaries at any time.

Bee started as an independent San Francisco startup making the Bee Pioneer, a $50 AI wristband. Amazon acquired Bee in 2025, and Frontier and Eclipse are the first new Bee hardware since the acquisition β€” Frontier effectively replaces the Pioneer with a smaller, lighter design, new colors and an IP67 rating the original lacked. The launch extends Amazon's push to move voice AI beyond the home, betting that an always-on personal memory β€” one that remembers the coffee plans, the meeting details and the dish soap β€” is worth a button press and a subscription. Whether people trust an always-listening device enough to wear one is the open question the hardware alone cannot answer.
