What makes it different

Tomo is a learning app that turns any topic into a short course you play like Duolingo — hearts, streaks, XP and instant feedback. Type anything you're curious about, from black holes to sourdough, and AI builds you a real course in about two minutes, then turns it into a five-minute daily game. You even pick who teaches it, from The Professor to The Pirate. The apps run on iPhone and Android, and the free plan doesn't expire and needs no credit card.

The "for ChatGPT" in the name is the launch angle: Tomo also ships as a ChatGPT plugin. Add Tomo from Plugins in ChatGPT, ask for a course on whatever you're into, and a game drops straight into the chat — quick questions, hearts on the line, on any topic, even the conversation you're already in. A neat detail: ChatGPT never sees the answers, so it can't spoil them; every answer is graded inside Tomo. No sign-up is needed to start, and connecting your Tomo account carries your streak over into the app.

Tomo is built by Mohannad Ali — the Product Hunt listing credits him as "Founder of Tomo and former CEO of Hotjar". His own site says he now runs Lucid Mayhem, which builds AI-native companies with small teams and AI agents, and describes Tomo as its first project. The site is free forever with no credit card required, with a paid plan available if you want more.
