What xtty is about
What makes it different
xtty is a native macOS terminal built for everyday SSH and coding-agent work. The motivation is mundane in the best way: fewer repeated steps in the terminal work you do all day. It batch-connects to saved hosts (with jump-host support), autofills matching credentials from macOS Keychain at familiar prompts, and transfers files with sz/rz without leaving the session.
The workflows go further than connection management. Duplicate Tab opens an independent SSH connection in the same remote directory. Broadcast input types one command across selected panes at once. And an agent-status view shows whether your Claude Code / Codex agents are working, need you, or are done β the terminal acknowledging that half of modern terminal time is spent babysitting agents.
Underneath the workflows it is a full terminal: side or top tabs, splits and panes, themes, font and ligature choices, regex scrollback search, and a command palette. It runs on Apple Silicon and Intel, and there is no subscription.
xtty is built by maker jian xu and launched on Product Hunt on 21 October 2026. Pricing is US$29.90 as a one-time purchase with a 7-day Pro trial β the rare terminal that asks for money once and then gets out of the way.
