What TwinMind for Desktop is about
What makes it different
TwinMind for Desktop is the desktop edition of an AI “second brain” that runs in the background of your day. It captures everything you say and hear in meetings, lectures and in-person conversations, then automatically transcribes, summarizes, and turns it into structured, searchable memory. The company’s tagline sums up the ambition: “AI that understands your life and helps you proactively.”
Unlike meeting note-takers that join scheduled calls, TwinMind captures passively all day — with the user’s permission — and builds what the founders call a personal knowledge graph. Transcription happens in real time on the device, it works offline, and the app can record continuously for 16 to 17 hours without draining the battery. Its proprietary Ear-3 speech model reports a 5.26% word error rate across more than 140 languages, with real-time translation built in.
The memory layer is the product. TwinMind generates AI-powered notes, to-dos and daily digests from what it captures, and — via its browser extension — pulls in tabs, email, Slack and Notion for context. Users can search their memories and push life context into ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini, so those models answer with knowledge of the user’s actual conversations, projects and people.
Privacy is handled as a design choice rather than a disclaimer: audio is deleted after transcription by default, the user chooses what gets captured, and raw audio isn’t stored or sent to the cloud. TwinMind is free to start, with a $11.99/month Pro plan (its most popular) and a $29.99/month Max plan, and is featured in Forbes, TechCrunch, Business Insider and Fast Company.
TwinMind was founded in March 2024 by Daniel George (CEO) and his former Google X colleagues Sunny Tang and Mahi Karim (co-CTOs). George is an astrophysicist who was previously VP and Applied AI Lead at JPMorgan, where back-to-back meetings inspired the first version of the product. In September 2025 the company raised a $5.7 million seed round led by Streamlined Ventures with Sequoia Capital participating, at a $60 million post-money valuation, reporting over 30,000 users with 15,000 monthly actives.
