What makes it different

Claude Duet is Anthropic's proactive agent: you hand it work through messages, it works on its own computer in the cloud using the apps you connect, and it messages you back when it is done or needs a decision. Approval is required before it sends messages, makes payments or edits documents, so it acts with a safety gate on the consequential steps.

Duet runs on Opus 5.5, connects to more than 6,000 apps, and is pitched as an agent that understands what needs your attention rather than one that waits to be asked. It is currently a research preview on a waitlist for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US; Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet.
